The Manchester-based Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA) signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore medical technology accelerator Zicom MedTacc in early February 2018 to strengthen the link between health tech entrepreneurs in both countries.
Fostering the international development of companies from northern England and Singapore
- This partnership means that Zicom-supported Singapore companies will be able to head to the North of England when developing and internationalizing their medical technology solutions.
UK companies to link with NHSA’s strategic partners in Singapore
- North of England, for its part, will get access to innovative new technologies in order to help support the region’s medtech and digital sector.
Concretely, Northern medtech diagnostic and digital health companies will benefit from the NHSA’s strategic partners in Singapore as a launching pad into the Singaporean and wider Asia Pacific markets, the Asia-Pacific market, both of which are growing « phenomenally quickly, » said Dr Hakim Yadi, CEO of the NHSA (source: Prolificnorth.co.uk).
NHSA and Zicom MedTacc: a collaboration born two years ago
The Northern Health Science Alliance is an alliance of the eight universities, NHS teaching trusts and four academic health science networks in the North of England. It covers a population of approximately 15 million people.
« We have been working with Zicom MedTacc for the last two years, this MoU formalises our existing working relationship and will support us in establishing a more enduring partnership, » said Dr Yadi.
